What does Drupal e.V. do in detail?

Organising DrupalEurope 2018 In 2018, Drupal e.V. organised DrupalEurope together with many volunteers, as an alternative to the European DrupalCon.

Supporting the organisation of Drupal User Groups and DrupalCamps Drupal e.V. can act as the official organiser of a Drupal User Group or DrupalCamp on request. In addition to renting event venues, processing supplier invoices, providing support with sponsorship matters, and making a ticketing system available, the association brings the accumulated experience of past DrupalCamps to the table.

Please note: when searching for suitable venues for a DrupalCamp, certain institutions offer discounts when renting to a non-profit organisation.

Public relations & communications Drupal e.V. creates opportunities for the community to promote Drupal and the community at conferences and trade fairs. To this end, we co-founded a CMS-neutral non-profit organisation, CMS Garden e.V., which gives the communities of the more widely used open source CMS systems greater reach, consolidates projects, and publishes materials.

Trademark representation Since 2010, Drupal e.V. (then still operating under the name "Drupal-Initiative e.V.") has held a power of attorney from Dries Buytaert to act against violations of the Drupal trademark policy in Germany. This is important because violations can damage Drupal's reputation or distort competition — and legal action can only be taken by someone based in the relevant country.

Through this arrangement, we were able, for example, to put an end to the sale of Pokémon cards via drupal.de, ensuring that the site now does what visitors would expect: providing information about Drupal.
