The Asociación Española de Drupal (AED) is the Spanish Drupal Association, a non-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers. Its goals are straightforward: promote the use of Drupal in Spain, organise Drupal events, and support the Spanish-speaking Drupal community both nationally and internationally. The association also contributes to Spanish translations of Drupal code and documentation.

Beyond Spain, the AED is an important anchor for the wider Spanish-speaking Drupal world, supporting communities in countries that do not yet have their own established association.

DrupalCamp Spain

DrupalCamp Spain is in its fifteenth year and one of the longest-running national Drupal camps in Europe. The camp rotates between cities. Past editions have been held in Barcelona, Sevilla, Madrid, Cáceres, Zaragoza, and Benidorm, and runs over three days.

The first day of these camps is a Business Day, bringing together organisations and decision-makers to explore Drupal as a practical digital strategy tool. The following two days open up into a full community programme with multiple parallel talk tracks covering front-end, back-end, DevOps, accessibility, design, site building, and project management, alongside practical workshops and contribution sprints.

Drupal Iberia

In recent years the AED has developed a close collaboration with the Portuguese Drupal community, resulting in Drupal Iberia: a joint two-day conference bringing together the Spanish and Portuguese Drupal ecosystems.

Local groups and Drupaladas

The AED actively supports local Drupal groups across Spain, including providing financial support for meetup costs. The association backs gatherings in multiple cities and organises Drupaladas, online community sessions where members discuss contribution, community topics, and the latest developments in the Drupal ecosystem.
